Founder

Tamara Ceciliano Mello, M. Ed., Board Certified Behavior Analyst is the founder of Guided Growth and a dedicated clinician whose work is rooted in dignity, autonomy, and neurodivergent‑affirming practice. With over 17 years of experience supporting individuals across the lifespan, Tamara has built her career on helping children, adolescents, adults, and families feel understood, empowered, and confident in their own voice.

Tamara began her career overseas, working and practicing as a counsellor in a range of clinical settings, including psychiatric hospitals, community programs, and family‑support services. These early experiences shaped her deep respect for human complexity, resilience, and the importance of compassionate, evidence‑informed care.

Her multicultural perspective continued to expand when she later moved to London, England, where she completed specialized courses and professional development training related to her field. Studying and training abroad strengthened her understanding of diverse cultural identities, communication styles, and family systems, enriching the culturally responsive approach she brings to her work today.

Before founding Guided Growth, Tamara also served in a Clinical Manager role, where she led multidisciplinary teams, supported clinicians in developing strong ethical practice, and helped shape service delivery grounded in compassion and evidence‑informed care. This leadership experience continues to influence her work, informing the clarity, structure, and intentionality she brings to her practice.

At the heart of Guided Growth is Tamara’s mission: to foster supported families, strengthen individual identity, and create environments where people can grow at their own pace. Her approach is practical, relational, and deeply human—focused on helping individuals build meaningful skills, navigate challenges with confidence, and live with greater ease and self‑trust.

Outside of her professional life, Tamara enjoys a vibrant home filled with movement, connection, and joy. She spends her time with her husband, their two children, two dogs, and a cat, often exploring the outdoors or hiking together. These moments of grounding and togetherness fuel her passion for helping others cultivate lives rooted in confidence, connection, and dignity.
